Playing the Sale Guessing Game

Sunday, September 25, 2016

Right now Anthropologie is offering an extra 30% off sale items, which means new sale markdowns are unlikely tomorrow. (Tuesday or after is more likely.) However, Anthro has been full of surprises recently so let's play the Sale Guessing Game just in case!

Eye Candy: Anthropologie October 2016 Catalogue

Friday, September 23, 2016

Anthropologie's October catalogue has made its debut, and it looks marvelous!
It includes beauties like the Collared Sienna Coat ($258) seen here.

Hello from the road, where Anthropologie's October journal is now ready to view! Some items are totally new like the Vista Bomber ($148, love that whole look!), the seriously gorgeous Eastberry Dress ($268) and the I-must-have-it Laced Artifact Midi Skirt ($168), while others are just new colorways as for the Lacework Shell ($78, now in a beautiful bordeaux) and the Canna Swing Dress ($148). There are also some beauties that apparently didn't make the lookbook, like the jaw-dropping Amanine Houndstooth Coat ($318).

To see the lookbook photos, go to the October journal page and then click into the products, the catalogue shot will be the bottom photo. Due to my work schedule today and then a wedding this weekend, I'm not sure I will be able to update this post, but I will certainly try!

We'll take a look at the huge home journal first thing next week.

Five new Banana Republic items I love, plus take 40% off!

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

1 - Cable Pullover Sweater ($88) | 2 - Todd & Duncan Cashmere Cable Pullover ($278) | 3 - Heritage Ribbed Turtleneck ($78) | 4 - Ruffle Cuff Dress ($118) | 5 - Limited Edition Off Shoulder Eyelet Dress ($298)

The Gap Family invites you to do some shopping, starting with Banana Republic's new pretties above! Right now BR, Gap and Old Navy are offering 40% off select items and Free 2-3 Day Shipping on orders of $75+, online only! Your code for this offer is COZY. The deal expires tonite so there's not time to delay on this promo.

Some these 5 are promo eligible, and they are just a handful of the plethora of new arrivals Banana Republic is unveiling. I'm excited to see that Olivia Palermo has been brought in as a guest curator -- she is one of my favorite street style icons! Some of her picks have already sold out (no surprise); you can see all of OP's picks here.

From Gap, I'm loving their Hooded Puffer Vest which is promo-eligible, and their jeans are some of my favorites, like these high-rise skinnies and this destroyed straight pair. At Old Navy, this dress is a classic and this jacket is too, and both are eligible for the promo. Their outfit page has some really cute ideas!

Happy promo shopping...

Styled: Studded Quilted Jacket

Let's take a look at how Anthropologie stores around the country have styled one of its more popular jackets, the Studded Quilt Jacket ($238)! This lovely pink-based patterned piece is an open jacket that has beautiful stud accents all over. Since it doesn't close on its own it's more of a fashion piece, perhaps meant to shield the arms on blustery days but not much of a wind-defeater.

Of course, after you see how good it looks with nearly anything, closure might not matter so much...

Examining pretty new Anthropologie Fall coats, like the Fringed Architecture Sweater ($378).

I should be working to cut down my already plentiful coat collection, but instead all I want to do is look at all the pretty new coats Anthropologie has been releasing! This is certainly one bright spot in their Fall offerings thus far. There is something to please everyone, from highly stylized and detailed offerings in the Fringed Architecture Sweater ($378) to fun capes a la the Reversible Hooded Sherpa Cape ($188) to the more classic stylings of the Remy Bomber Coat ($268). Everything in between too!

Let's look at some of the latest pretties, and then tomorrow I'll run a post on tap about what to wear under some of my favorite Anthro coats...

Eye Candy: Exploring the NYFW Spring 2017 RTW shows

(note: clicking on the designer's name below the images in this post will take you to their full show.)

Last week was New York Fashion Week and there is good news: pleasing florals, more body-skimming shapes and flattering lengths abounded! Although there was still a ton of drab, shapeless, or likely to flatter less than 2% of the population clothing, it seems designers have started looking towards cheerful colors, patterns and florals to brighten up our wardrobes next Spring.

I've gone through the slideshows and picked out my favorites that I hope to see interpreted by retailers I love (especially Anthro!) next year. Take the Jenny Packham look above. I love this dress + cape combo, the tight pleating and eye-catching details. I could very easily imagine something like this on the racks of Anthropologie, Madewell or Free People!

Inside, 25+ looks that have me hopeful for next Spring's shopping possibilities...

Nine new things I'm loving at Anthropologie this morning...

Anthropologie's new Canna Swing Dress ($148) will look great under many of their new coats!
Just one of the new arrivals I'm loving this morning. (Shown here with these earrings.)

The new Fall arrivals keep drifting in at Anthropologie -- each day brings some new delights to add to the wishlist! I'm rather obsessed with many of their completely drool-worthy new coats and jackets but we'll talk about those in their own post later today...for now, wake up to nine new things I'm loving at Anthropologie this morning, including the light and swingy Canna Swing Dress ($148), above...
